The Lisbon Transfer & Recycling Center handles solid waste and provides recycling services for the residents of Lisbon. This flyer explains the workings of the center and how you as a user can help it run efficiently. It is mandatory in the Town of Lisbon to recycle all your waste into designated categories.

RULES AND SAFETY

• Watch your children at all times.
• No bare feet anywhere on the facility grounds.
• Separate and dispose of all trash in their respected categories. (ask an attendant if you’re unsure)
• If you would like to talk with other citizens, please do not block traffic and or recycling areas.
• Trash, metal, wood and objects disposed at the facility belong to the town. NO items are to be removed.

AREAS OF DISPOSAL

• See an attendant if you’re unsure of disposal location.
• Refer to the Fee Schedule, on the town website regarding disposal fees for items below.

Inside the Main Building:

HOUSEHOLD WASTE: Trash bags, Styrofoam, plastic bags and anything else that does not fall within a category below. (If you are unsure, please ask an attendant.)

PAPER: Newspaper and flyer inserts that come in the newspaper

MIXED PAPER: Cereal boxes (plastic liners removed), pizza boxes, mail, office and school paper, paper cups, plates, drink containers such 6-packs/12-packs etc. 

CORRUGATED CARDBOARD: Boxes that are clean, dry and flattened to include brown paper bags.

Outside Main Building in the Yard: 

• Aluminum (pie plates/trays/foil)
• Metal Cans (tin/steel/aluminum)
• Empty aerosol cans
• Empty bottles & jars (any colored glass)

*Items not accepted:

• Wood Stove Ash, Gasoline or Hazardous Waste or Chemicals

SWAP SHOP SHED: For any item that is clean and in good, reusable condition. (Only open on Wednesdays.) 

DEMOLITION WOOD: Wood from remodeling, building etc. (Note: Paint and nails are accepted if in wood. NO metal, glass, plastic, composite decking or pressure treated wood accepted in bin.) 

METAL: Free from other materials such as webbing from lawn chairs, wood tops from metal table legs, plastic handles, etc.

PROPANE CYLINDERS: Can accept up to 99 pound bottles

BRUSH: All brush must be clean of dirt.

GRASS / LEAVES FOR COMPOST: Must be free from wood, rocks, branches or foreign objects.

BAY 2: Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers and dehumidifiers.

BAY 3: Clean asphalt shingles

BAY 4: Bulky waste consisting of furniture, mattresses and box springs, pressure treated wood, composite decking, building materials/waste, and drywall. (Note: Windows and doors with all glass and wood intact accepted with a $5.00 fee. If all glass and wood are disposed of separately in the correct location there is no charge.)

Siding must be cut to 6ft or less length

BAY 6: Motor oil, antifreeze, florescent lightbulbs and televisions. (Note: All containers with motor oil or antifreeze must be sealed and labeled with your name/address/phone. Liquids must not be mixed with any other substance. DO NOT poor any liquids in any tank.)

Cell Phone & Rechargeable Batteries

We do collect cell phone batteries and other rechargeable batteries. Please see a Transfer Station attendant for proper disposal of these items.
